I’m currently gearing up for the dSAT, and this space aims to capture all the knowledge I need to catch up. It’s been a while since I did any kind of maths, so I’ll need to work towards remembering even basic concepts…
From the initial diagnostic test, I’ll need to have a look again at these topics:
- Quadratic equations
- Understanding the different forms, and how to convert between them (i.e. standard, factored, and vertex)
- Completing the square, which is something I’ve always kinda struggled with
- Components of a quadratic equation — that is, given , what do , , and signify?
- -degree polynomials
- Basic arithmetic
- Long division of large numbers (i.e. two numbers greater than 10)
- Multiplication of large numbers (i.e. two numbers greater than 10)
- Multiplication of decimals without a calculator
- Simplifying “common” denominators (e.g. )
- Geometric formulae
- Circles — formulae and properties (e.g. sectors)
- Symbols
