Post-read reflection
What the book did well was to hook me in and encourage me to explore deeper. There were several points in the book where I wanted to keep continuing so that I get a more clearer glimpse at the whole story. I also appreciate that supporting elements like diagrams were continually added and repeated to guide myself as a reader going through the lore of the story. Overall a pretty solid read!
With that said, though, I find that the premise is somewhat outlandish — even Uketsu and Kurihara began from speculation. To see the story actually unfold the way they speculated — driven by mystery novels and works of fiction — was pretty sudden to me. I doubt someone would look at floor plans and imagine hidden crevices and murder rooms, but it was entertaining to read through.
I think I might follow up with the other books in this series. A decent easy read if you’re into some mystery!
