TCP/IP protocol suite
In the context of the TCP/IP suite, the application layer provides services to users’ applications.
Some examples of applicaation protocols in the suite at this layer include:
- the DHCP;
- the HTTP;
- DNS systems;
- the SMTP; and
- SSH.
